Interesting, that has not been my experience in Europe - the whole bag goes
through, contents and all.
The only time I have had to unpack is after the bag has passed through the
machine and a security officer wishes to check that the equipment actually
works - or just be pain if it's a slow day.
Actually I'm surprised there is not more of a fuss with my luggage which is
stuffed with wires and devices. I do pack to help make it clear that there
is no connected system and that wires are neatly curled or bound when viewed
by X-Ray.
Joel.
