Actually, yes!
Its quite common practice when racing a front-wheel-drive car. Applying the
brake with your left foot while maintaining throttle allows you to lock up
the rear wheels more, and rotate the car through a very sharp corner.
Usually used in rally racing, but also could be useful in SCCA Solo-II
(figures that the one question I know the answer to would be off-topic)
