The stylus does NOT have a cap. But, because the pen is large I don't
shove it in a pants pocket. I have yet to have a problem with scratches,
but haven't had it that long. I do know that it feels better to me than
any other stylus I have used.
Like I said, it's mostly on my desk, but I can't see a problem in wiping it
down if it gets crud on it. BTW - it is replaceable too. You can get a
pack of 3 (I think) replacement tips and a tool to replace them. They
apparently wear down.
