The reason that Aussie Newtons (or at least Newtons whos Locale prefs are set to Australia) can't do this is because ther=
e is a law in Australia making these kind of phone tone-generating devices (other than a normal telephone) illegal. A lo=
ng time ago, you used to be able to use things like this to get free long distance calls from pay phones and such, that's=
 why the law exists.

If changing the Locale won't bring it back, maybe changing the Country in your Owner's Info card?
