Re: [NTLK] Cameras for Tibet

While an USB-only camera definitely won't connect physically, there is more
than just the physical connection required for Tibet to communicate with a
given camera. Case in point, the Nikon Coolpix 990, which has a serial cable
available for it for connecting to non-USB computers (different cables for
Win and Mac). The camera needs to use software called "Sierra"
something-or-other, which the 990 does not.

Daniel Padilla tells me that Tibet sends commands, which must be understood
by only the cameras using this sierra-whatever code.

So while USB only cameras certainly won't work, not all serial-capable
cameras will work with Tibet either.

Daniel, if you're listening, what do you think of seeing if any info can be
gathered by looking at the code for the Nikon connection software? Might
this open up a hack of Tibet for owners of the 990 and 995?
