It's probable that your Internal store has become heavily fragmented, or is
low on space. A backup -> brain wipe -> restore cycle should defragment
your Internal store.
An interesting utility to see just how much storage space has been "lost" is
PieChart:
http://newyork.unna.org/unna/utilites/PieChart1.0/
After you launch it, choose a store and view the pie chart. The flashing
piece is the part that is unaccounted for (a discrepency between the amount
of storage that the OS says it is using vs. how much is actually being used).

Subject: [NTLK] Why is my internal store so slow?
I just used Nick's TestIt (v1.2.2) to check the speed of my CF card
with Paul's ATA driver.
To my surprise, I found that my Internal store is much slower
than predicted by TestIt, and even much slower than my external
(not CF/ATA) 16MB card:
Here are the times (from multiple tests) for trf. of 100KB:
Internal: 54s, 34s, 33s, 31s, 41s, 31s
16MB Card: 15s, 16s, 16s
CF/ATA card: 16s
This was even right after a restart, and with other cards removed.
Any ideas why the Interal is so slow? Is that rather normal?
Thomas
