[NTLK] NewtSync iCal

Well, I was waiting for the Dates module to arrive before I tried
NewtSync, so when I saw today that it was released, I decided to give
the program a try. I was a little worried, because I had two separate,
but largely redundant, copies of my data: one on the Mac, one on the
Newt. I decided to back-up, then erase the names off my Newt and the
dates off my Mac and try to sync over TCP/IP.

I was endlessly impressed. The names and clock synced perfectly the
first time. I am having some trouble with the iCal sync... The progress
bar never moves. I started out, as I said, trying to copy the Newton
files into a completely empty iCal calendar. The bar began at 1 of 68
and never moved for 15 minutes, however, upon opening iCal, I
discovered that a few records had indeed been copied. Next, I tried
syncing the Newt into an iCal calendar that had a few records, but no
duplicates of Newt data. That was more successful based on the progress
bar... it made it about half way through before stalling. But I
cancelled the sync to get out of the stall, so no data appeared changed
in either location. For some reason, I have a feeling that repeating
meetings on the Newt are causing the problem.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. If not, I am sure
that after a few more releases the dates sync will work as flawlessly
on the first try as the names sync already does. Once that happens, I
will gladly pay to register the software! It would be great to have an
effortless way to keep my Newt, Mac, and iPod in cahoots over where I
have to be.
