yes, Newt's Cape provides some very similar capabilities. you can Schedule
it to archive a set of web pages (and all links to a specified depth). it's
also possible to Schedule it to process a set of archived web pages and
create books or NewtonWorks documents for faster viewing. (ideally it would
be nice to combine these steps, but not really possible/practical due to
unreliability of connections, and Newton memory/system constraints)
