Steve,
I understand the level of your frustration. In my experience, I have had no
problems with NCU Serial with Win9x, NT, 2000 and XP Pro and Home. However,
with anything above the Win9x OS, I have had to use 1 or more instances of
Slowdown with sometimes the sliders fairly far to the right on both
settings. That pretty much makes the whole process of backing up or
installing a tortuous experience in terms of time, so I have chosen what I
think is the best available method right now, MacOs emulation with Basilisk
II with ethernet. Over the past two years that is how I am backing up and
installing over ethernet Appletalk. The backups don't choke and go smoothly
and fairly fast and installation is a breeze.
