We had a hacker break into a Linux laptop here at work; the laptop has
since been quarantined, and the network mechanism it was using was a
WaveLAN Silver. So just for the heck of it I downloaded the driver and
inserted the card. But I can't get the thing to work. It recognizes
the card no problem; and TCP loads and everything appears to work --
right up until packets start flowing, at which time I can't see
anything. I'm trying this on using a 802.11 hub that's locked down to
only specific card MAC addresses (this card is one of them). Otherwise
it's clean. Has anyone else had experience in getting the card to work
(or not work)? I missed the original posting so I don't know -- maybe
the card doesn't work at all yet. Perhaps someone might clue me in.
Sean, thinking we should take advantage of the Clarendon store's Airport
network to do run an informal WaveLAN NPDS log during NUGWash.
