The Keyspan adaptor works fine in Classic if you don't have the OS X drivers
installed (it's a .kext file in the extension folder). If you then want to
use the Keyspan with OS X, you must reinstall the driver (or put the file
back into the extensions folder.
I too do a lot of serial work in OS X and Classic. I have installed and
uninstalled the OS X .kext file so often that I had to give myself
permissions to modify the System folder (not the System Folder). Will we
need an Extension manager for OS X?
