in the last time I disassembled a few Newts totally and reassembled them
again successfully.
If you have some experience in hardware and work careful, it is no problem.
You do not need to saw the battery area, because this is a separate
compartment, you simply remove the connections and make them to whatever
you have as replacement.
The only question for me is: what could the new case be? ...
