Since it's Ethernet, you cannot connect your MP2000U directly to the
printer. You need to go through a router or gateway, or go with a crossover
cable. If AppleTalk is enabled, what's the printer's name? That's the name
that should appear on your Newton, when you choose "Choose Network
LaserWriter". Is your printer and/or your Newton part of a large Ethernet
network?
BTW, the application from HP that I uses is "HP LaserJet Utility". Good
