[NTLK] Shelf-life of 2x00 Newton rechargeable battery packs?

There are several 2x00 Newton rechargeable battery packs up for auction
on ebay and I was just wondering: Do these have some sort of expiration
date or limited shelf-life, i.e. do they lose their ability to take and
hold a charge with time?
