I forgot to add the links...silly me...

http://www.pda-soft.de/mp2k_battery_pack.html

This one covers rebuilding the Apple NIMH pack. There are some other
sites floating around that tell you how to make a standard AA pack work
with rechargeable batteries and recharge in the Newton.

If no one is selling converted carriers though, my point is moot.

There is a way to convert a standard AA carrier to allow the use of
rechargeable and have them recharge in the Newt. Similar to rebuilding a
researchable pack with current NIMH cells.

Not understanding the ramifications of that, could someone explain =3D
what=3D3D
 sort of conversion would need ot be made to a carrier? Is there =3D
some=3D3D
 reason that the 1700mA NIMH won't work? I'm clueless when it comes =3D
to=3D3D
 electrical engineering. But I'm willing to learn <g>
