It's all a matter of perspective Ed. Yes, there are times I'm frustrated
with the Farallon cable but no more often than the "dongles" that come with
other cards, or the xjack cards that need a cat-5 cable just when I don't
have one with me.

In fact, when I'm at a client's site, I usually take the Farallon card
because a.) it's one piece rather than a dongle and a cat-5 cable, and b.)
it's much smaller and lighter than a cat-5 cable of equal length. It fits
quite nicely in a pouch in my Tumi bag.

So in my mind, the Farallon card isn't worse or better than anything else,
just different. For $.65, I can carry one of the female/female RJ-45
connectors and be ready for nearly anything. And yes, the 3 meter crossover
cable is always in the back of the Jeep too, just in case.
