How about a SER-002 which uses the secondary serial port of the Newton, so the first port
will also be available through the standart apple dongle. Or an USB-001 which will also
fit in the SER-001 place and may use the secondary serial port, too. So the USB-001 will
be some sort of Internal-Serial-to-USB-Converter. Of cause it would not be faster than a
serial connection, but for people with only USB-ports (PC and MAC) perfect. For both
some piece of software would be needed, which enables the secondary port on the software
side.

Or maybe some sort of accellerator board which is electrically not that risky as the
homebrew
version.
