A standard Newton keyboard won't work but...
...if a different resonator is fitted in the keyboard that is the same
ratio shift as the new/old crystal frequencies, then it will.
i.e. old crystal = 3.6864MHz, new crystal = 4.9152MHz
ratio = 4.9152/3.6864 = 1.333...
Keyboard resonator = 4MHz
New value = 4 * 1.333 = 5.333MHz
Replace resonator and the keyboard will work when the newt is accelerated.
The ratio is slightly different for a 5MHz crystal (1.3563368)
You would then need a 5.4253472MHz resonator.
The odd value resonators are not available off the shelf but can be made.
I had some 5.33MHz ones made and they work as advertised.
