Re: [NTLK] Don't Get A Palm

I have to agree. Palm is designed as a poor man's date and address book.
I've bought and tried to load some of the more sophisticated software
packages to use with my work and the poor little thing seems to choke on
them requiring periodic hard reset and loss of everything I haven't backed
up. The handwriting is so poor (or maybe my handwriting) that I still can't
get it to recognize some letters even using their grafitti guide. I'm a
relatively new newton user (about a year) and find I'm using it more and
more to do real work (and play). Unfortunately, most of the programs I may
have used it for (medical field) have disappeared, but this little green
buddy is so versatile, I have been able to work around that limitation to
some extent. And don't let the battery run out on your palm or it's as blank
as the day you took it out of the box. I've got a Jornada 540 also (windows
CE device). That was truly a waste of money. It's so slow loading a word ce
document that I could go to the library and look it up quicker. Each day I'm
more and more disappointed that Apple Axed the Newton. In my line of work it
was becoming the standard. Now we have epocrates on palm. YooHoo what a move
backwards.
