Victor,
you have done (and still doing) quite a lot for the newton community
and therefore deserve privileges i surely acknowledge
(and certainly do not claim for myself).
But accusing me in front of maybe one or twothousand people,
for asking in publicity for a software w/o intention to
pay for .... is not one of these privileges.
Just to clarify:
i am trying to build a database on the newton and to connect it to the Mac.
Found Accordian, learned that it is only supporting FM 3.0
Now i am searching for FM 3.0, although owning FM 5.5
For your sake in future questions i will state: "willing to pay !",
but to me the major issue is availability, secondary comes the prize.
Searching tools i use only link to the newest software, even
the claris pages are pushing only the newest contents (do you wonder ?).
Havenīt found it yet.
As this community is rather huge, the problem (Accordian -> FM 3.0)
might be known, i tried to shoot into the dark....
well,
i am sorry to hit you....but admit, you are fast in shooting too.
Others (cjohns_at_mac.com, stevehj_at_mac.com) did not react
in such an allergic manner, but instead gave some advice.
And please take the fact, that in germany
the Mac play not a major role compared to the States, therefore
Stores to find historic software or even knowing stuff trying to
help you could easily turn out into a truly pain.
Well,
i hope the community accepts my apology for this longish
and off-topic response, but agrees, that Victors
statement deserved a response by me.
I would like to propose, that any further statements
on this topic would strictly be off the list (private msg),
as this list has seen enough of some worst comments in the
past.
Thanks for reading,
Regards,
Stefan
