Xport might work if you have color... it did NOT work on an SE/30 or a
PB100 (68k)- it would run but died at the little spash screen due to
graphic issue IIRC. None of the NPI, NCU, or NCK type apps worked. RCU
I'm sure I tried but do not recall the results.

You CAN use EEtransfer I *think* (pretty sure, it's been years since I
tried to do this) to install packages. And I recall finding some app (a
dbase?) that had serial port package installation in conjunction with a
regular terminal app. as something it could provide, but I tested it just
the once, then forget what app it was, and never did find it again.

the only reason I messed with this, one place I worked the only mac close
at hand was an SE/30 acting as a small ftp server, so I tried a few things
with it...that was system 7 and I only found one way to do Newton things
with it. With System 6, my guess would be sloup on the Newt or something
similar that just uses a regular terminal program to transfers packages in,
is your only hope.

I'd test if I had some hardware close but the SE/30's and pb100 are still
buried after my move....hope this helps you decide what to try, at least.
