I wanted to point out that synching via serial connection did work well
under the Classic environment of OSX (someone made it sound like
ethernet was the only stable connection under Classic).

I brought this up because not everyone has ethernet cards or
MP2000's/MP2100's on this list. There are people with 100's, 110's, and
120's who may be trying to synch under OSX using a serial connection.

Yes I would prefer to do all connecting with my G4 through ethernet, but
the layout of my computer stuff and the location of my computer in the
room make it a hassle. It's a hassle to get to my ethernet port (unless
I just leave a crossover cable dangling from it) or to find a spare
outlet within reasonable distance for my MP2100's power adapter. As
we're all aware, ethernet cards eat up batteries/juice, so I won't use
ethernet without being plugged into the wall. For me, it's a lot easier
to quickly grab my serial cable/USB adapter and plug in. No power
adapter needed, easy to get to the USB port right on my keyboard, don't
have to worry about 3 children (ages 3 and under) grabbing my Newt's
power cord or crossover cable. But if I have to install anything more
than a small little package--like backing up one of my Flash
cards--then, yes, I use ethernet, because I too don't feel like sitting
around all day.

It's not stupidity that leads me to the serial cable, but
convenience/necessity.
