Actually, it's devolved into a discussion on whether Apple was correct in
initially listing the new iMac as having FIVE USB ports, given that two of
those are actually on the keyboard. Which, of course, means that the only
time you actually have five open USB ports is when you unbox the iMac, but
BEFORE you connect the keyboard and mouse. AFAIK, since Apple only ever
claimed TWO USB ports on previous iMacs, the precedent is to only count
those ports which are available in a properly setup machine. Which, given
the two ports on the keyboard, ends up equal to the number of ports on the
CPU itself. So, either quoting the number of AVAILABLE ports, or the number
of ports on the CPU yields a number that would not be considered shady
advertising.
