Thanks for the info on mac.com mail -- I wasn't aware that they gave out
information for their smtp server, and I've really been needing it!

Did I miss something? No, make that two somethings:
1. Mac.com mail still works via POP3 ? I thought that Mac.com mail now
works only via IMAP4 ?
2. SimpleMail can do IMAP ? This is great news. When did that happen ?
