Hello everyone.

This is to notify you that there has been a change to the way the Newted
Community server handles SMTP (outbound) email. If you have been using
the Newted Community server (newted.dyndns.org) as your SMTP or outbound
mail server, you will need to change your email client to use a different
SMTP server. Due to the Newted Community server being flagged
(inappropriately, if you want my opinion) by the Open Relay Database
(ordb.org) as an mail server operating as an open relay, I have had to
block the use of the Newted server as an SMTP relay altogether. Bummer.

What this means to you is that you will need to use the SMTP mail server
provided by your local ISP when sending mail from your Newted email
account. This does not affect the POP3 or IMAP access to the Newted
Community server.

If you have any questions regarding this change, please contact me at the
following address:

     admin_at_newted.dyndns.org

My apologies for any inconvenience that this has caused. Should a
solution to this situation be found that satisfies both the ORDB and you,
the Newted Community at large, I will let you know via email and on the
Newted Community home page.

Grant
