Yes, they can, but be careful. On the Rev A iMac, the first partition has
to be < 8GB in size. If it isn't, then it's only a matter of time before
a block beyond 8GB will want to be written, and it will wrap around and
take out some boot info. Not that this has happened to me or anything....
