Three possibilities that I recommend:

1. DIY with Frank's instructions. (http://www.pda-soft.de/)

2. If you can live without it for a while and can deal with shipping to him
in Germany, Frank will refurb for you. He does excellent work!

3. There's a retail chain or franchise in the US called Batteries Plus that
will perform several services for you including reconditioning ($5.00 per
pack with no charge if the battery is beyond help), refurbishing with new
cells (they'll refurb just about any type of rechargeable pack you bring
them as well as order factory new from their catalog. No, they don't have
Newton battery packs in their catalog) and even sell you new ACCUs and put
soldering tabs on for you to your specs if you want to refurb yourself. I
bought from them when I redid some eMate battery packs. The techs at my
local store are very helpful.

BTW, never through out a dead MP2X00 pack or even a NiCad pack for the 1X0
series. There are parts on them that people on this list want if you don't!
