Finished the upgrade about an hour ago. Everything tests great so far!

Took a couple of hours.

I don't have a SER-001 so I installed the switch and both crystal's in
the open space.

I had lots of trouble removing the old crystal. In the end I added extra
solder to both connections( better heat transfer from the iron). Then
pulling(gently) on the crystal with a small pair if pliers I applied
heat on one side and then the other. After a few cycles the old crystal
lifted without any damage to the Newt.
