Yes. Once you have purchased a compatible ethernet card, and installed
the appropriate driver over a serial connection (and make sure you have
installed all the components of Newton Internet Enabler 2.0 as well),
you can connect to a Mac running NCU 1.o over ethernet. You do this by
making sure that the Mac is set (in the AppleTalk control panel) to use
EtherNet or EtherTalk, and that NCU is set to sync over AppleTalk, On
the Newton, use the Prefs application to set AppleTalk to Ethernet, and
select your card from the list. Then, in the dock application, set the
Newton to connect using AppleTalk. Now connect the Newton and Mac using
an Ethernet crossover cable, or plug them both into an ethernet hub. You
are ready to sync at blazing speed!

PS- Ethernet connections ONLY work with Macs, unless you install a Mac
emulator on your Windows or Linux box. Others on the list, who are more
familiar with dark side, could give you instructions on that procedure.
