Verily, on 1/29/02, Gao quoth:
>1. Are there any software of internet connectivity as well as card drivers
>(i.e. ethernet card) for the OMP?

short answer: yes.

details: yeah, but you won't be able to do much today with it.

There are a few dial-in terminal programs (pocket call, one other I
forget) that will allow you to dial into a host and use a terminal on
the host. Note: most ISP's don't offer this any more. I did this
once with an old 110 and the cigarette pack modem (has built in
drivers) and my university's dial in host. very cool. Using Pine and
Lynx, it was the height of geekdom, scads of features, and no heap
problems. Amazing. As for supported modems, only the apple branded
ones were officially supported, there's an old FAQ somewhere that
tells what modems will work with these models and how.

ahh yes, here: <http://amug.org/amug/sigs/newton/nwtfaq.html.txt>

There are a few similar email programs that will allow you to do a
similar thing if you can dial into your mail server directly, which
may be handy if you're Tech-Ed. Not terribly useful for us mere
mortals.

The old versions of Newtscape will allow you view books (pre-saved
webpages), but not web browse.

>And I
>heard that OMP does not recognize ethernet cards. Is that true?

yes.

As for your other issues, I'm woefully unable to help. Sorry.
