You could also try Byte-size software's freeware(thanks Way!)
'Scrollbuttons'. It puts a small icon 'P' on a either side of screen that
displays a bunch of boxes that lets you pick the first letter of the last
name and displays an overview format of the Names app. Just another way to
access with three taps.
