Accvording to my experience those flex ribbon cables have a layer on top of the copper trace layer.
If you manage to remove this layer (partly) over the damaged area you might have a chance to use a metallic gel pen.
In the older times (of course with much wider traces) I used to solder a small wire on both ends of the broken trace.
But in your case this would not be possible.
