I would say that you would be able to probably run with around 100KB, since
that's what is available on a bare, non-upgraded 2000. Obviously, that would
make loading large NewtonWorks documents a bit harder and slower, and might
impede the network connection and even the recognition. A 2000 had some
limitations because of its relatively small amount of free heap, but then,
after you start running a few apps, there would be much less than 100 KB
free on a bare 2000, while if your 2100 or U2000 is already running those
apps and if you're pretty sure that you won't open or load anything too
large, than I would say that 75-100KB would be fine.
