I think the problem might be your cable router that doesn't route
AppleTalk packets.
The other reason could be that the Newton and/or NCU aren't set to do
AppleTalk over Ethernet. For the Newton, go to prefs, then AppleTalk.
Does it work if you connect the Newton directly to the Mac?
