You can still get the AA cage from apple if you go to a apple authorized
service center. Basically anyone who can order parts directly from apple.
The part # for the AA battery cage is 922-3308 and the rechargable tray # is
922-2968. I dont know if they still have the rechargables but about a month
ago I ordered 2 AA trays and got them about a week after I placed my order.
The store did think I was insane crazy when I asked but after convincing
them to look they did find it in the catalog. Hope this helps.
