I agree that the reminder is somewhat intimidating, as it definitely
gave me pause before posting when I joined the list. I returned to the
Newton fold this past December after a year and a half of absence (and
never having used a NOS 2.1 device), and it seemed I had forgotten
everything. Seeing that message made me wonder... is this question too
stupid to ask? So I would be more than happy to help rewording it.

As for the FAQ, it is an amazingly valuable resource. But it is
complicated. And some questions, such as problems with WaveLAN or
ethernet, just need to be addressed on a case-by-case basis. The FAQ is
just not a person... it can't answer specific questions dynamically and
personally (until we get Newton FAQ AI, that is :)). So we need to do
everything we can to encourage people to look for their own answers, but
to never be afraid of posting the question to the list.
