GEM got a bunch of Newtons (as everyone knows), but what I was interested
in was their smallish leather portfolio cases. I once had such a case for
my 130 that held the newton in place with a leather harness system (shades
of Barsoom). But the system designed for the 2x00 seems has a set of
straps that are clearly designed for the lid to slide into.
But it's not very secure. My first thought was that the lid would slide
into these straps, then snap into place against the back of the Newton.
Good in theory, but the lid snaps on the back can't get a grip past the
extra thickness of the straps.
Now, there's another horizontal strap near the top of the Newton. Oho, I
thought, perhaps that strap loops over the top end of the Newton to hold
it in place. A clever idea -- but the strap isn't quite long enough. I
have no idea _what_ that one's for.
Anybody have one of these cases? Can anybody tell me _how_ the Newton is
supposed to stay in there? Or is it supposed to be hanging pretty
loosely?
Thanks,
-Bill
