You should have a control panel in your Control Panels folder, named
"Infrared." Open it, and see if it can find find the infrared hardware. It
may be possible that you have the necessary software turned off, or not
installed. I had to play with my computer before it recognized that there
does indeed exist an infrared port. :-) Hope this "information" helps.
