Not to nitpick, but Psion comes/came awefully close: Built-in apps write
industry-standard files, FAT file system on board, easy synchronisation
(as long as you're using Windows, that is).
I had a Series 3a that I passed on, but the Psion emulator is running
quite happily on my HP Omnibook 425; DOS can see any file on the Psion
partition and the emulator can see all of the DOS partition.
Psion is/was pretty fool-proof too: I had my 3a for 7 years and it didn't
reboot _once_ in all that time. Now that's what I call solid!

Are you talking about the QT libraries for linux-based PDAs? They are
pretty kewl...
