=ABCopy Protection Defeated with Felt Tip Pen

It seems several people have devised a means to defeat the copyright=20
protection on CD's by carefully drawing over the layer of the CD that=20
contains the copy protection technology with a felt tip pen, thus=20
keeping it from causing a computer to crash upon reading it.
The funniest part of this whole ordeal is that under the rules of the=20
Digital Millennium Copyright Act, technically felt tip pens should now=20=
be made illegal as they contribute to the break down of this copyright=20=
protection technology.
In a blatant attempt to show some of the absurdity of the Digital=20
Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) many members of the on-line community=20
are now actually pushing to make felt tip pen's illegal to prove their=20=
point.
In some what related news, it seems some folks have also figured out how=20=
to defeat most standardized finger print detection systems by creating a=20=
finger out of Gummi Bears. Does this now mean that we will be forced to=20=
outlaw our favorite sticky snack also?
*Sigh* It seems congress is so happy at their beloved new DMCA laws they=20=
are actually toasting to them with Champagne. Are our congressional=20
leaders ever going to really understand technology and stand up for the=20=
people and not the industries that give them money to run for office? =BB
