I found this on an Australian home page for Fosh Products.
Has anyone ever purchased and used it with a Newton and OSX.
If not, is there an Australian on the list who could stop by
and try it out with a Powerbook or iBook ?
Thanks,
David Gibson

USB IrDA adapter
The USB IrDA adapter provides your computer with an Infrared IrDA
compliant port which is functionally equivalent to the IrDA
port built in to some PowerBooks and Laptop computers. By
means of this special USB adapter it is possible to use IrDA technology
with Desktop and portable computers which do not
have a built in IrDA port (e.g. iBooks, iMacs) and PC
laptops without an infrared interface.
The USB IrDA adaptor allows you to communicate wirelessly with most
mobile phones which include an infrared port, and data calls
can be placed, as well faxes sent and received. Phone books
within most phones can be managed and edited on the
computer. Other devices, such as Palm personal digital assistants, can be
synchronised wirelessly using the USB to
IRDA adaptor at speeds up to 4Mb/sec.
The Datech USB to IrDA adaptor opens up the whole world of wireless
convenience - no longer do you need to fiddle with cables and connectors.
Simply place your IRDA capable phone, PDA or other peripheral near the
adaptor, and they can communicate.
Minimum system requirements for the USB adapter are a Mac with USB
and MacOS 10.1 or a PC system with Windows 98/2000/XP. The adaptor is
small, at around 2 cm x 6 cm x 4.5 cm of very compact adapter. In addition
to the standard USB cable connector, it is supplied with an additional
short USB cable, which is ideal for when you are on the road.
