Worked fine for me ... but finding the Newton stuff can be difficult.
To save you the time and effort, go here:

If you still can't reach it, you should try using one of those nifty
internet utilities to ping the domain (standalone.com). If you're on
Windows, do Start, Run, and type "command.com" and hit 'enter'. This
will get you a DOS prompt, of sorts. From there, simply type in
'ping standalone.com'.

You're looking for something that says basically 'transmitted packets
received after xxx seconds' (not doing Windows, so can't give you an
exact quote).

Mac-folk (OS-9 and below) will need MacTCP Watcher or Network Toolbox.
 Check www.versiontracker.com for these.
