This is simply unacceptable in my opinion. Yes, the Palm was more
designed as a mobile slave to the desktop (while the Newton is basically
a fully independent machine), but still, losing data due to empty main
batteries? What were they smoking?

That is one of the issues[0] keeping me away from a Palm. I had my Newton
die due to empty batteries on me while I was busily writing on it
(disregarding the low battery warning in the hope that they would last
"just a few minutes" longer) and guess how much data I lost? Only the
last word I had written and nothing else. Isn't a MP2K1 a great machine?
