I didn say they _had_ to get a Libretto, only if space were at a premium.
Personally, I'd go for an Omnibook 600 (CT if I could afford it). They'll
even run LGX (linux) [*] and the little mouse-on-a-stick is sooo cute. I
know that the 530 has better battery life, but the 600 series was more
standardised and they had colour.

Well, if they like it, they can buy it. I just think that for the money
they could get a very nice 3 year old laptop and a couple of spare
batteries.
[*] But the Librettos ran LGX better than the Omnibooks.
