   I went the low tech route on this, but it works well. Motorola DPC 650e with Motorola Power 144 cell modem. The phone is an analog only brick (none of those fancy digital phone toys like games and stuff) but it can be reprogrammed to talk to the Power modem (the two work together to keep a good signal in fringe areas). And the modem was designed with Newtons in mind.
   Anyway, sending pics via TIBET from the deep woods isn't a problem.
