I use a Newtboot for my 2100.

The majority of the time it stays zipped open in my backpack so it lays flat
with the side that holds the newton unzipped just enough so it is easy to
get out quickly when I need it. The other side I use as a "tray" for misc.
things like a firewire hard drive (not for the newton!) and the modem cable.
