Depends if the engineers at Palm did a good job and made no assumptions
about the screen size. If they did, then the OS should accommodate for
various screen sizes and provides to applications everything that they need
to resize nicely, again, assuming that those application developers didn't
make any assumption.
On the Newton, I don't remember how many times I read from the Apple
documentation to not assume the size of the screen, and that was when the
first Newton was released in 1993. Apple was suggesting that the Newton OS
could be adapted to run on anything, from a legal paper size tablet down to
a watch. Still, I don't remember how many times I came upon an app that
didn't accommodate or scaled well for the largest 2x00 screens. Makes you
wonder...
So, anyway, giving the state of the programming art these days, I wouldn't
hold my breath to see if the Palm OS would play nicely with a larger screen
size, nor would I hold it for any Palm applications...
