[NTLK] Why won't my newton charge??

Hey, all. I'm using an upgraded 2000, with the 4 AA battery cage and a power adapter from a 110 (if this helps). Anyway, whenever I plug my newton in overnight, it doesn't charge the batteries at all! Is there a special procedure I need to follow, or what?
