You're right Peter.
It is definitely the wrong dongle. After looking at it,
and inspecting it closely, it is plain - wrong.
Sorry for throwing all this to the List... I should've
looked better (at it) in the first place... :-(
So, I got mad (at myself) and went to the local OfficeMax
place. They had (the last) one D-Link DWL-650 wireless
card. Will test it tonite...
