And I didnt even need to do anything... I let it sit for like a half hour
[while I walked the dog and weeded the garden on the deck] - and it
installed like a charm. I think when it was saying "Preparing to
Install" - and seemingly doing nothing - that it actually was.
I think it was searching the hard drive for parts that might have been
already installed - and since I have this installing on an OS X iBook with
a 40GB hard drive - that was what was taking so long...
So anyhow - point is, if you are installing NCU on a system that is OS X,
expect the time to install it to be longer than you expected.
And its working well - I am connecting via Appletalk, through a WLAN
connection with a DLink DWL-650, a 2100, and an iBook - all via Airport
Base Station with my home router doling out DHCP addresses...
